What does this bill do?
This resolution asks the Department of Education to set up a framework in its Office of Facilities and Operations that makes Complex Area Superintendents, Business Management Officers, and Administrative Services Assistants solely responsible for monitoring capital improvement and repair and maintenance projects in their regions. The state office would keep overall oversight, update a public jobs tracker, train and coordinate with local leaders, require quarterly reports on project status, budgets, delays and needed support, and send the framework and recommendations to the Legislature.
