Troy Hashimoto currently serves as the vice chair of the Senate Housing Committee. Before being appointed to the Senate in 2023, Hashimoto served five years in the House. Before the Legislature, Hashimoto was a member of the Maui County Council for nearly eight years and a member of the Hawaiʻi Board of Education.
Hashimoto attended the University of Denver where he earned a bachelor’s and a master’s in business administration. He is a former chair of the Maui County Democratic Party and a member of the Maui Visitors and Convention Bureau board. In the Legislature, he represents Wailuku, Kahului, Waihe‘e, Waikapu Mauka and Wai‘ehu.
