Carol Fukunaga returned to the Senate in November 2022 where her district covers Mānoa, Makiki, Punchbowl, Papakōlea, Tantalus, and the University area. She previously served on the Honolulu City Council. Fukunaga currently serves as vice chair of Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee and is also a member on the committees on energy, economic development, higher education and public safety, intergovernmental and military affairs.
A member of the William S. Richardson Law School’s inaugural class (1973-1976), Fukunaga has made a lifelong commitment to public service since the 1978 Constitutional Convention.
