    Bio

    Gregg Takayama is a former television news reporter. He was born in Honolulu and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa. He represents Pearl City, Waiau and Pacific Palisades and is chair of the House Health Committee.

    His professional experience includes serving as director of community and government affairs at UH, and as communications director for Lt. Gov. Ben Cayetano and the State Department of Public Safety. His volunteer experience includes working as director of the Friends of Pearl City Library and serving on the board of the Pearl City Community Association and the Pearl City Foundation.
