Elle Cochran was born in Wailuku and has lived in Lahaina for her entire life. Cochran previously served as a member of Maui County Council from 2011 through 2018. She represents Kahakuloa, Waihe‘e and Lahaina.
Cochran is the founder of the Save Honolua Coalition and was a member of The National Ocean Council under the Obama administration. She has volunteered with Maui Friends of the Library and served as consultant to Na Mea’Ike’Ia. Cochran is also a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoys surfing Lahaina waters in her free time.
