A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to A state lottery.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. (a) The department of business, economic development, and tourism shall conduct a feasibility study for the establishment of a state lottery.

(b) The study shall examine the:

(1) Fiscal impact of establishing a state lottery, including estimated revenue and costs associated with implementation; and

(2) Potential community benefits associated with establishing a state lottery.

(c) The department of business, economic development, and tourism shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2026.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
