Luke Evslin represents Wailua, Hanamā‘ulu, Kapaia, Līhu‘e and Puhi. He grew up in Wailua and he currently lives in Līhu‘e. In 2023, Evslin was appointed by Gov. Josh Green to represent his district. He is chair of the House Housing Committee.
Prior to the Legislature, Evslin served four years on the Kaua’i County Council. He co-founded a Kailua-based outrigger canoe manufacturing company, taught high school civics, American government, and Hawaiian history, and worked as a columnist where he focused on land use and energy. He is a graduate of Kaua’i High School and the University of Hawaiʻi and he has a master’s degree in Public Administration with a certificate in public policy from the University of Southern California.
Evslin is a canoe paddler, photographer and hiker.
