Stanley Chang chairs the Senate Housing Committee and is well-known for his advocacy for more housing for the state. A Harvard University graduate, including law school, Chang is a lifelong resident of the Waiʻalae-Kahala area. He graduated from ʻIolani School.
He practiced real estate law in Honolulu and served on the Honolulu City Council for four years before being elected to the state Senate in 2016. He represents Hawai‘i Kai, Wai‘alae-Kāhala and Diamond Head.
