Hello. We are calling this hearing to order. It's Wednesday, April 16th, 1:15PM. in conference Room 430. It's the Committee on Human Services and Homelessness. And we have a single item measure on our agenda SER22 which requests the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency collaborate with relevant agencies for outreach programs to inform kūpuna about emergency preparedness.

And we did hear a similar HCR which we passed in this Committee for testifiers. First up, we have AARP here in person.

So good afternoon, I'm Audrey Suga-Nakagawa, Advocacy Director for AARP Hawaii. And we stand our testimony and strong support of this resolution. We really appreciate having this resolution heard.

And you know, as you know, we've seen reports over and over of every major disaster where we see people over age 60 are more likely to perish under these really tragic situations.

And so having this collaboration with other agencies that would promote more initiatives and outreach to educate and prepare our kupuna would be definitely important for the future preparation. So thank you very much for allowing us to testify in strong support of this resolution.
