Are there any announcements. If not, I'm going to do a quick personal privilege before my announcement. I did have an opportunity before session to meet with former Senator Wong. The first thing I did, Senator Kim, is share with him the pin you Commission for all current and former Members of the Senate.

  • Ron Kouchi

    Legislator

So he now proudly has gotten his pin to be identified as a Member of our August Club. The second he shared with me, but I'd read it in his bio. In the years that he was at Georgetown, he worked on the Hill.

  • Ron Kouchi

    Legislator

And one of the historical events he was able to witness firsthand is the vote for statehood for Hawaii. And after the vote and Hawaii being admitted to as the 50th state, he thanked his Senator for his vote. And Senator John Kennedy said Hawaii deserves it. So among his assignments was working for Senator from Massachusetts, John F. Kennedy.

  • Ron Kouchi

    Legislator

During his time in the Senate, he adopted the Coastal Zone Management Law. He got the Bern School of Medicine approved, and he got the Hawaii State Plan approved. And he did note that it was a unanimous vote in the Senate. And as you can witness tonight, we have several no votes these days.

  • Ron Kouchi

    Legislator

So unanimous would be hard to achieve. The announcement is that we will the deadline for all non-fiscal bills in conference is 11:30PM tonight. Any further announcements. Senator Inouye thank you Mr. President.

  • Lorraine Inouye

    Legislator

    Point of personal privilege.

  • Lorraine Inouye

    Legislator

I just want to add and say that Senator Wong as well and the implementation of the Coastal Zone Management Plan that I was on the Planning Commission and we were the first ones that had to learn what to do with this federal Bill that affected us in the State of Hawaii and certainly we did follow up as well and gave some approvals and managed to work on the CCM and as well and just to add that I was on the state Hawaii State Plan Council under Governor Ariyoshi and we're happy for all the work that you had done that we as Commissioners gave to Hawaii in New Hawaii State Plan.

  • Lorraine Inouye

    Legislator

Mahalo for your services. Thank you.

  • Ron Kouchi

    Legislator

Further announcements if Not Senator Wakai.

  • Glenn Wakai
