Thank you, Madam Speaker. On behalf of the Hawaii House of Representatives, I would like to honor the Milani High School champions. This year, the Milani High School athletics and band program achieved great success across many state competitions.

As a former Trojan athlete myself, playing volleyball, swimming and water polo, I am beyond proud of the success of my Alma mater. And when I first got elected, I was the only graduate from Mililani High School to be in this body.

I am now joined by the representative from manoa, class of 96, as well as the representative from Kapahulu, class of 07. Winning state competitions takes time and dedication, and these athletes and band Members have committed countless hours to their respective sports and activities.

Their devotion to perfecting their craft, each other and their coaches is nothing short of outstanding. Please take a look in the gallery of all the Mililani champions we have today. And I have to mention that this is only a portion of the athletes and the students because as we all know, there is a major bus shortage to.

So we're only able to have one to three athletes from each of the sports. But they represent the over 300 other students that have also achieved wonderful success. I'd like to take the time to represent and to acknowledge the champions that we have on the chamber floor. First, I'd like to recognize Ethan Tsuyama and Sachi Nakario.

We can give them a round of applause. Ethan and Sachi are the drum majors from the Milani High School Marching Band. They had a phenomenal season this year.

The Milani High School band has been no stranger to success, winning numerous state tournaments and the indoor indoor color guard placing as semifinalists in the 2024 Winter Guard Invitational World Championships. They actually leave today to go and compete nationally as well.

This competition season, Milani High School won several major state Marching band competitions achieving the superior rating in their respective divisions. Class aaa. These competitions include the Kapolei Bound Festival, Mililani Band Fest and the Kamehameha Tournament of Bands, which the children's have won every single year since 2016.

At two of these three competitions, they also won the sweepstakes award which is achieved by scoring the highest overall in their respective division. These significant accomplishments highlight Ethan's and Sachi's excellence, talent and dedication as Members of the Milani High School Marching Band.

They have helped solidify Milani's high school's position as one of the top band programs in the State of Hawaii. Congratulations. Next we have Chloe Garcia as a Member of the Milani High School Varsity Swim team. If we can give her a round of applause. Chloe is representing a lot of our champions that we had at Mililani.

She took home the state championship title in the 100 brushstroke, triumphing over an intense competition and demonstrating her determination in competitive spirit. She also won the 200 individual medley, the 200 medley relay, the 200 freestyle relay and the 100 brushstroke at the OAA championships. Congratulations, Chloe.

Last but not least, I would like to recognize Athletic Director Joy Matsukawa and Principal Fred Murphy for their. Please stand and we can give them a round of applause for their leadership at Mililani High School. Fun fact. Mr. Murphy was one of my teachers when I was at Mililani, but he still looks very, very young.

But they have had such unwavering and dedication to the Milani High School students.
