Kim Coco Iwamoto is a public interest attorney, community activist, small business owner and founder of the Chamber of Sustainable Commerce. She served as a member of the Board of Education and the Hawaiʻi Civil Rights Commission.
Iwamoto ran for the House several times before successfully beating the longtime House speaker in a close primary race in 2024. Representing Ala Moana, Kaka‘ako and Downtown, Iwamoto is the first openly transgender legislator in the state of Hawaiʻi. She has served on the board of directors of Partners In Care and HAPA and as a commissioner on the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission.
