    Bio

    Scot Matayoshi is a former public school teacher who was first elected to the Hawaiʻi Legislature in 2018. He chairs the House Consumer Protection and Commerce Committee. He says education, a strong agricultural industry and housing are among his top priorities.

    Matayoshi graduated from Punahou School and interned with the late U.S. Sen. Daniel K. Akaka while in college in California. He returned to Hawaiʻi and taught science at Nānākuli High and Intermediate School. He later received his master’s in education as well as a law degree at the University of Hawaiʻi.
