Andrew Takuya Garrett is a graduate of Mililani High School and the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa, where he earned both a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration. He represents Mānoa, Tantalus, McCully and Mōʻiliʻili.
Garrett currently serves as chair of the House Higher Education Committee. During the Covid pandemic he was deputy director of the Department of Human Resources Development under Gov. David Ige. He has also held executive roles with the Healthcare Association of Hawaii and the Hawaii Institute for Public Affairs.
