They met with the Lieutenant Governor, sat in on some public hearings, several of them for the first time ever visiting the Capitol, and also took a tour.

And one of the problems she noticed when she was a resident there, I don't believe she is anymore, was that a lot of the kids didn't have any shoes or any. They didn't have any slippas. They had nothing. So she founded the Hawaii Slippa foundation and this is its 20th anniversary. Lynn, can you stand?

Mahalo to the Senator from Kahala. At the age of 10, back when he had been in just the fourth grade, this Hauula resident had one goal in mind. Clean up our community and send kids to college.

Now, seven years later, with nearly 2 million bottles and cans recycled through his nonprofit, Bottles for College, this teenager has awarded nine scholarships to local kids representing Koolauloa via the North Shore. Put a round of applause together for gensh. This 17 year old has already helped prevent about 150,000 pounds of trash from being dumped in our landfill.

His nonprofit is getting set to award another three to four scholarships this year. And he's graduating a year early to head to the University of Hawaii on a full ride. We recognize this year's Prudential Emerging Visionary Awardee once again, Genshu Price. I'll now send it over to the Senator from Kailua.
