Born and raised on O‘ahu, Tina Nakada Grandinetti represents Kāhala, Wai‘alae and Kaimukī. She graduated from Mililani High School and received a master’s degree from the University of Hawai‘i Mānoa and a Ph.D. from RMIT University in Australia. Her doctoral research was on Hawaiʻi’s housing crisis.
A former legislative aide before running for office herself, Grandinetti was active in the fight to protect Oʻahu’s aquifer in the aftermath of the Red Hill fuel leaks. She is vice chair of the Consumer Protection and Commerce Committee.
