Kanani Souza, who represents Kapolei and Makakilo, is a licensed attorney in the Hawai’i and Washington, D.C. She attended Maryknoll Grade School and is a 2003 graduate of Kamehameha Schools. Souza holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in political science with a minor in cinema/television, a master’s in education from Chaminade University, and a law degree from the University of Hawai’i William S. Richardson School of Law.
She’s one of a handful of Republicans in the House and has frequently been on the outs with her caucus. She cites cost of living, homelessness, crime and traffic safety as the biggest issues facing her district.
