A two minute time limit on testimony normally, because this is governor's message, we may allow for longer time. And with that, I wanna thank the members of my committees for being here.

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

And with that, we have one item on the agenda, governor's message seven eight four. Consideration confirmation to the nine one one board, Terrence Gomez, for term to expire 06/30/2030.

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

And we have received testimony on support of the nominee, from Davilyn Riccadio, EMS dispatch coordinator for the Maui Police Department. She has submitted written in support. That's all the testimony we've received on the nominee.

    Legislator

We'll just go ahead. We can we can just having you here. Verbally is just as good. But thank you for wanting to step up and serve on the nine one one board. If you just tell the committee briefly why you'd like to serve on the 911 board.

  • Terence Gomez

  • Terence Gomez

    Person

Yeah. Back in the day. Yes, sir.

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

I remember you. But no. No. Appreciate you serving. One of the things that we're looking for nine one one fund is for the to help the counties upgrade the PSAP systems.

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

Any thoughts about that you'd like to share with the committee?

  • Terence Gomez

    Person

    I'm sorry?

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

The one of the things I'm looking for the board has been trying to look at is to help the counties upgrade their PSAP systems. Do you have any thoughts about that coming from the county's perspective insofar as the nine one one board goes?

  • Terence Gomez

    Person

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

  • Terence Gomez

    Person

    Not really. No, sir.

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

Okay. Okay. Okay. But you definitely want might wanna examine that because that's an issue 911 board is dealing with, and your voice from the county is an important one to ensuring that the counties get the resources it gets. But appreciate you serving.

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

Members, are there any other questions in the nominee? Okay. Seeing none, we'll have you hang tight for one second, Terrence, and we'll go ahead and make this official.

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

We're just gonna write into decision making. Recommendation is on GM784 is to go ahead and advise and consent.

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

I think despite the fact that I threw a curve ball at him there that he has great knowledge from the county of our police department, and he'll be very well a good component on the board. K? Any questions or comments? If not, recommendation is to advise and consent. I vote yes.

  • Sharon Moriwaki

    Legislator

    Okay. [Roll Call]

  • Angus McKelvey

    Legislator

Thank you very much. Congratulations, Terrence. Thanks for stepping up and serving on the 911 board. This concludes the hearing.
